Leigh Academy students cater for cricket stars

Gourmet menu served at Lashings cricket event

On Friday 5 July, 30 year 10 students at The Leigh Technology Academy served a special gourmet lunch for ex Test cricket stars at the Lashings World XI Cricket Gala day.

Organised by the Leigh Academy Trust, this special event featured a galaxy of past and present cricket legends including Sachin Tendulkar, Curtly Ambrose, Hashim Amla as well as some of Kent’s finest young cricketing talent.

The menu served by the students was created by Cucina’s award-winning executive chef Ian Morgan and consisted of a home-smoked salmon and 3-bean salad followed by double-baked chicken stuffed with Brie and crushed truffle potatoes, all rounded off with a trio of lemon desserts.

Event organiser and Business Manager at The Leigh Technology Academy John Grafik said:

“It was a lovely sunny afternoon and the event was a huge success. We were very proud of the professional way our students conducted themselves.”
